Woohoo Summer!

Does being handcuffed to your enemy help you get along with them?

We are two days into summer vacation so far. This morning I overheard Parker and Molly looking for supplies to have a pretend school. I had to laugh at that one , habits are hard to break I guess. I also have used a 1/2 tank of gas carting kids around in the last 2 days. Collin is having to adjust big time. He pretty much ruled the house during the school days so his boat has been rocked and he is none to happy about it. But Hudson is super happy. There are lots of playmates and plenty of people to feed him what more could a almost 2 year old want?

I am having to get used to the constant kitchen mess again. The floors stay clean for about .5 seconds after they are swept and the laundry pile grows faster. But on the bright side there are people here to clean their own rooms, put away their clothes and load dishes they used.

We are working on finding a balance. Logan and Macy have football and cheer practice alot this summer so I got to figure out how to have some fun times in the mix for everyone else. I am happy for the change of pace and look forward to the adventures in the next few months.

What a day!

The day has finally come. The day I worked hard for, dreamed of and sometimes wondered if it was even possible. This morning I got on the scale as I do every few days and today was the day! The day I would reach my 100 pound weightloss. I must have reweighed a handful of times before it started to sink in.

I pondered for a minute how to feel and what to do today to acknowledge this milestone. While it may seem like bragging to others I decided to share the news of my milestone. I have worked hard , the blood ,sweat and tears got me here. There was no luck involved , just back to the basics of healthy balanced food and exercise. No secret magic solution. So I share with you that I have reached a milestone in my journey but I am not done yet.

I changed my lifestyle forever and I am still looking ahead to reaching my goal in time. There isn't a deadline of when this will happen. I am just continuing on as I have been doing and I know I will get there in time. I've got a ways to go. I have the skin that hangs on my arms and stomach but I have worked hard and I am proud.

If I can do this anyone can if they want to bad enough. To quote a favorite song of mine and one that inspires me.
''If you want to be somebody else,
If you're tired of fighting battles with yourself
If you want to be somebody else
Change your mind... ''  Lyrics to Change your Mind by Sister Hazel

The bad part of the day was Collin woke up during the night sick. The poor boy was in serious pain with his ears. We headed to the ENT where he had to get a shot and some ear drops and antibiotics. He was just miserable and the whole staff at the doctor took pity on him. The nurse trying to distract him asked him if he had a puppy dog. Poor Collin told her No she died and he cried some more. I tried my best to cheer him up and the 5 suckers they gave him when we went to pay didn't even help. He seems some better tonight and hopefully on the road to recovery. Those darn ears of his !

Mother's Day

To my children,
My love for you is never ending. You are the reason that I live and breathe. Life without you all would be incomplete for me. Your all so unique and special. I love your hugs and smiling faces , the sound of your laughter can always lift my spirits. You guys make me proud, you guys make me crazy but most of all you guys make me happy to be your Mom.

Love Always,
Mommy

To my Mom,
Thank you for every single piece of my laundry you ever washed. Thank you for every home cooked meal you made for me. Thinking back  I guess you did cook us breakfast once or twice back in the day (inside joke). As a Mom myself I know how much laundry is done without notice and how many good meals are eaten without much fan fair . Thank you for loving me enough to spank me and ground me so I learned from my mistakes.  For all the help with last minute school projects and forgotten homework I want to say I am thankful. You supported me and encourage me through the years. And I look forward to the many years ahead.

Love Always,
Your Daughter

To my Mother In Law,
What I did right in life to end up with such a jewel of a Mother In law I will never know. I am blessed beyond words to have someone so special, caring, and loving. You should teach classes for the other Mother In Laws of the world.  I love you and you mean the world to me. Your sons are such good men and I am sure that comes from having such an awesome Mom.

Love Always.
Your Daughter too

Peter Pan

I have talked before about the upcoming spring school play. I was all excited a few months back with Macy playing the part of Wendy and Logan was Mister Smee.

All the while Logan had his feathers alittle ruffled over his part feeling like it wasn't a leading roll and as a 8th grader he deserved better role. Logan added so much to the play, his goofy comedic side made Smee a favorite character to the audience. I watched the play myself a handful of times and every single time he made me crack up. He was so believable and gave it his all. He was the perfect fit for the role and he shined.

Macy did a awesome job with not just her lines but the solo and dance she had to do all 8 performances! She gave the play feeling and emotion . The song was great too and every time it seemed to get better and better. Seeing Macy center stage singing gave me flash backs to her singing her first solo in the role of Mother Goose back when she was in first grade.

Words can not express how proud I am of my kids. They are talented no question. I helped backstage for several shows and it was interesting to observe the cast getting nervous right before the show began. If Logan and Macy got nervous you couldn't tell , they shine on stage and I hope they stick with acting for years to come.
