Eventful

Time really just got away from me the last few weeks. We have been so busy with Macy's play Cheaper By The Dozen and Spring break that it seems we have been running non stop.

Macy did awesome in all 6 performances! Her role was the second oldest daughter Ernastine who narrated the story along with her brother Frank. It was a big role with alot of lines and Macy did an amazing job! She was born to be an Actress and we are so proud of her. Macy has now started  practice for her school play Bugsy Malone Jr. where she will play the role of Talula.

To kick off Spring Break we had Ice cream for dinner. We are going to start doing this on occasion because we really don't need a full meal and then a rich dessert. We all enjoyed our treats even tho a few questioned when we were having a "real" dinner . Some of us aren't big on change but I sure enjoyed my peanut buster parfait I haven't had one of those in ages. I do really like the local yogurt bars and the healthier options they provide like sugar free yogurt and fresh fruit toppings. Next time we will plan better and go to one of those.

On Monday- Thursday the girls and I packed up and headed to the beach for a few days of sun, sand and surf. It was fabulous weather and a nice time. Molly had Erin to play in the ocean and sand with, Macy had Payton to walk the beach and giggle with and I got to relax on a comfy lounge chair and flip through magazines with Tara. The boys back home went bowling and lounged around probably not doing any cleaning till Thursday morning but I came home to a house in one piece so all worked out well.

On Saturday afternoon we had a HUGE scare. We had spent the day outside in the yard cleaning out flower beds and mowing. The kids played with balls and bikes most of the day. Around 4 o'clock Hudson went in for a shower because he was dirty and tired. He had his bath then was sitting on the couch watching tv with Molly. Somewhere around 5:10 pm he fell over on Molly and began to have  seizure. I had been standing in the driveway talking to Brian when I heard her screaming HELP HELP! I darted inside to see what was going on. Molly had run into Macy's room to get her and I was trying to figure out what was happening. Molly yelled something about Hudson and he was laying face down on the couch seizing. As I turned him over he was blue around the mouth my first thought was he was choking. I reacted as if he was choking trying to clear his throat with my finger (ouch, he bit me good), hitting him on the back and even an attempt at the Heimlich .

I was screaming for Brian who was in the basement to help me. Brian called 911 as Hudson was still seizing but he was breathing in a  distressed fashion.I was seriously terrified my baby would die in my arms and the feeling of being totally helpless was awful.  The ambulance arrived right as he stopped seizing but his eyes were still rolled back and he was floppy and breathing odd. He continued in this trance state most of the ambulance ride , not crying or talking.

By time we reached Children's hospital Downtown he was crying for Mommy but confused and very upset. He did not recognize me as Mommy for a few hours he kept asking me for his Mommy. It was a very scary experience! The Emergency Room diagnosed him as having a Febrile Seizure due to a sudden fever. He had been fine all day but had a fever of 102 at the ER. Mortin and Tylenol got the fever under control and after 3 hour Hudson was acting like his normal self and we were released to take him home and follow up with our Doctor on Monday.

On Monday I called first thing to get Huddy in to see Dr. Barron. I explained the events of Saturday night and we talked over everything. He agreed with it sounded like a Febrile Seizure and it's a wait and see if he has any more in a short time period. While it was very scary to watch it isn't something Doctors find life threatening. For now we will be very careful with future fevers and treat them right away.

Continuing the Doctor talk, Brian will be having knee surgery tomorrow. We decided to reschedule due to Spring Break. We have to be at the hospital at 5:45 with surgery at 7:30. Here's hoping this gets him out of pain and feeling good again.
